DROWNING ROAD - “One late afternoon in the city of W. in the country of C. I set out to meet my friend at 121 Choptow street. Since I did not know the way, I would rely on a taxi driver to get me there. The sky was darker than usual and there was a hint of rain in the air…” So begins the text for an Odyssey like treatment of a long sequence of rain blurred images taken from a taxi window on a journey across Wuhan City by an American searching for his Chinese girlfriend, without benefit of language or direction. A narrative of a wanderer in a city of rain along a succession of drowning roads where bewildering images of an imaginary people in a fictional land are blurred by motion . . .
